That's My Jam is a party music game for the iPhone and iPad app "That's My Jam: Party Game" and the website thatsmyjam.pplx.app. It is built to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking.
What we collect while you play
- Game details. When you host or join a game, the game server keeps the room code, the name you type, the songs you pick, guesses, votes, and scores so everyone in the room can play. Use a first name or nickname; it does not need to be your real name.
- Song searches. What you type in the song search is sent to the game server, which looks it up in Apple's public music catalog and returns the results. Results may be cached for up to one hour so repeat searches load faster. Searches are not tied to your name.
- Playback diagnostics. If a song fails to play, the app or website may send a short technical note (for example, the error message, whether Apple Music is connected, and the browser or app type) so problems can be fixed. These notes contain no names, picks, or Apple ID information, and only the most recent few dozen are kept.
How long it is kept
Game details are held only in the game server's memory, not in a database. A game is deleted when the host ends it, and inactive games are cleared automatically within about 6 hours. Everything is also erased whenever the server restarts.
Apple Music
Connecting Apple Music is optional. Sign-in happens directly with Apple, and we never see your Apple ID, password, or payment details. Apple gives your device a token that lets the game search the catalog and play full songs; that token stays on your device and is not stored by the game server. Apple's handling of your Apple Music account is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Stored on your device
The app and website save a few settings on your own device so the game works smoothly: the name you last used, your seat in the current game (so you can rejoin if your phone locks), and preferences such as song length. You can clear these by deleting the app or clearing the website's data in your browser.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, location, or microphone.
Service providers
The game server is hosted by a cloud provider, which may keep standard technical logs such as IP addresses for security and reliability. Song search and playback use Apple's music services.
Children
That's My Jam is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can leave a game at any time, and the host can end a game for everyone, which deletes it. You can disconnect Apple Music in the app or in your device's Settings. For any privacy question or deletion request, email [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
